Have you ever tried to display codes in blogger. Many blog posts display codes. I always wonder how is this code displayed. After deep search with Google, I found the secret. In this post, i will share with you, how to display codes as it is in any of your post.

• First of all copy your code and encode your code. Click here to do this.
• After you click on encode button your code will be encoded. Copy the code.
• Paste it in your post. Thats it.
• If you want to add a border or put the code inside a box, Place the encoded code inside <fieldset style="border: 1px dotted ;>------your code------</fieldset> tag

Lets try one:

• Go to Blogger >> Posting >> Create.
• Copy the code : <data:blog.pageTitle/> </title> </b:if> or <data:blog.pageTitle/> </title>
• Encode it.
• To display code inside a box, paste the code inside this tag. <fieldset style="border: 1px dotted ;>------your code------</fieldset>
• To display without box, simply paste it anywhere you want.
  
• Try Clicking on Preview.

How to put a flash mp3 player in blogger post

Here is a simple tutorial to add small flash Mp3 player to any post in blogger.

Copy and paste the below code just before </head> tag in Layout >> Edit Html.

Copy the below code and paste it wherever you want the flash player to be displayed, but paste it in the Edit Html tab of Create Post.

Note: If you are using Internet Explorer, you will probably need to click the player twice to make it play. (All other Web browsers will let you click once.) If you do not see the MP3 player, then you dont have the Flash player installed. (More than 90 percent of all Internet users do have it.)

How to add space between words in a blogger post

Ave you ever tried to keep more than one space between two words. If no try first. Blogger does not allow you to add more than one space between two words. Even if you try pressing space-bar hundred times, it will not work.
Below words are separated with 10 spaces:

Now coming to the point, there are two ways to do this:

• Using non-breaking space (&nbsp;)
• using pre tag (<pre> </pre>)

To add any number add spaces, put that many number of (&nbsp;) between those words.
Eg: Copy and paste the following code in your post:
Vinod&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Vinod

Now, well try the second method:
Using pre tag, we can add space with your Space-bar itself. Now, you can add hundred spaces with your Space-bar.
Try This: Vinod<pre>                   </pre>Vinod

Note: All these tricks have to be done in Edit Html tab of create post. After doing this trick, do not go to Compose tab. Otherwise, again there will be only one space.

100th Post

Yay CAD-a-Blog. we have hit a milestone here at CAD-a-Blog. This is our 100th post! Ok, its not that big of a deal really, but hey, Im having fun. I wanted to take this time to remind you, or if you are not aware, to inform you of some great ways to know when a new post is added to CAD-a-Blog.

There is the obvious way, just show up to the site. But lets face it, youd rather that I came to you right? If you have e-mail then you can sign up for the free E-mail notification. When a new post is made you will get an e-mail letting you know. Click the link and you are there.

If you use an RSS reader, then again, when a new post is here, your reader will be notified. Click the link and you are here. Ive posted about these things before.

I am looking at setting up a discussion board. I havent worked out all of the details yet, but Im looking into it. I am also looking at setting up a Wiki. It would be similar to Wikipedia, but it would be CAD-a-Wiki. One other item that I want to add is video. I had a link to one of Lynn Allens videos from her Cadalyst website. It seemed to work, what do you think?

I am also looking to expand the content topics to include GIS. I am getting more and more into that realm and feel it can have a place here at CAD-a-Blog. That one is a while away yet, but keep your eyes open.

I currently have links across the top of the site that take you to specific tag topics. They are:

• Home
• Articles
• AutoCAD 2009
• Impression
• Store

I think that most of these topics are obvious as to what they cover. Home takes you back to the main CAD-a-Blog page. Articles takes you to posts that I have made about articles that I have written outside of CAD-a-Blog. The Store link is to the CAD-a-Blog store. There you can buy CAD related items, like t-shirts, coffee mugs, etc. I plan on adding more items soon. If you have a great idea for a CAD T-Shirt, or polo, or mug, let me know, I might be able to set it up in the store.

I am looking to add some topics, maybe remove the Articles link, add more content to those topics specifically. I have started some blogs with the title and tag QUICK TIPS. they are short tips about AutoCAD. They dont go deep in detail, but simply say, "Hey, heres a great command (or idea) that you might want to know about, try it out." Look for those in the near future. Once I get this video thing going I will probably make that one of the links too. Oh, and when AutoCAD 2010 comes out, there will definitely be a link for it! Other topic ideas I have are POD Casts (I might not do this if I can get the videos to work out right), WORKAROUNDS, BUGS, and News items. I have lots of ideas, just not enough time to do them. If I quit my day job . . . . (my wife would kill me!!)

One more item, I am planning on getting my own URL for CAD-a-Blog within the next few months. That will make CAD-a-Blog more searchable, more legitimate, etc. When that day comes I will let you know. It might not be until the end of the year, I dont know yet.

Autodesk Labs Role Guest Post by Scott Sheppard

Autodesk Labs Program Manager, Scott Sheppard, is our guest Blogger today.  he talks to us about Autodesk Labs role at Autodesk, as well as some of its history.

Autodesk Labs got its start with Shaan Hurley. Shaan was working on our Beta program back then and wished he could involve users earlier. We love our beta programs. We manage them on http://beta.autodesk.com Participants sign up, test the software, and provide feedback under a Non-Disclosure Agreement. Though from the customer perspective this is early in the release process, it’s actually closer to the end of the process in software development terms. So although beta testers may have great ideas like “Why don’t you redo this whole thing this way?”, there really isn’t time to start over from scratch. The primary emphasis of many beta programs is to learn if the software works or not. Our QA teams have already put the release through its paces, but there’s no substitute for having customers try it with their own data to ensure that something is ready to ship.

Autodesk Labs was born to involve the customer earlier in the process – where there is actually enough time to act on a suggestion like “Why don’t you redo this whole thing this way?” We are careful to call what we put on Labs “technology previews” instead of alphas or betas, because we want to ensure that there are no misconceptions about something becoming a product or making it into an existing product. We make technology previews available on Labs so people can help shape their future. Some die a quick death. For example, users were not so happy with our attempt at visual search where users could locate parts by drawing crude shapes. Others take a while to perfect but go on to greatness. Autodesk Inventor LT was on Labs for 2 years before becoming a product. Autodesk Impression was one of the first technologies to graduate from Labs. It is now a feature of AutoCAD.

As an organization within Autodesk, we have 2 roles.

1.  Our Labs team looks at industry trends and creates prototypes that attempt to turn the possible into the practical. Way back before the iPhone, we instrumented a copy of Autodesk Design Review to run on our Perceptive Pixel Multi-touch Wall. We learned a great deal about the gestures that would be appropriate for working with CAD data without a mouse or keyboard. Even further back than that, we created Project Freewheel to see if it were really possible to view 3D (not 2D, 2D was easy) CAD data on the web using just a browser. We learned a great deal about high-end graphics cards that were not common in cloud computing servers like those from Amazon EC2.

2.  Our second role is to be a service organization to the rest of Autodesk. We get technologies from various departments and help make them available via the Autodesk Labs site. Most of the items you find on Labs came from somewhere else within the company. The Labs team has worked on Project Freewheel, Project Draw, Project Showroom, ShareNow, and Project Twitch, but everything else is from another part of the company. We are happy to play this role as we encourage other parts of the company to develop their technologies by involving the customer early in the process. We also help with the mechanics of it by creating web pages, email aliases, discussion forums, etc. We also use social media (e.g. blogs, Facebook, Twitter) to get the word out. We produce monthly reports, that I loving call TPS reports in reference to Office Space, that summarize feedback and include site visitor and download statistics.
